Do More by Doing Less

Many people confuse activity with accomplishment. However, being constantly busy doesn’t take you closer to your goal if you let destructions control your schedule. By taking the driver’s seat, you can make sure you don’t waste your efforts. And saving time while staying productive means living a happier life with less hustle and stress.

Learn to Say ‘No’

Not being able to confidently say ‘no’ leads us to overcommit our time and energy. Just say ‘no,’ if you know you are already tired, your schedule is full, and the only reason for saying ‘yes’ is your desire to please. Remember, when we let other people’s interests run our lives, we end up exhausted and nonproductive.

Learn to Simplify

Try to find an app, a YouTube tutorial, or book that can help you finish your task easier and faster. Ask for help or advice whenever you need it. Break tasks into smaller chunks to make them more manageable. Step back and look at the bigger picture so you don’t get tangled in minor details. And add visuals: a picture is worth a thousand words, and can save hours of time, whether it’s in your project or on your personal to-do list.

Learn to Prioritize

Start your day by tackling the most urgent and significant tasks on your list, and make sure you don’t get sidetracked. If you don’t have a clear idea of what your priorities are for the day, you start prioritizing someone else’s to-do list over your own.

Focus on One Task at a Time

Multitasking divides your attention. By focusing all of your energy on one task you increase your overall efficiency and achieve more. Reserve some free of interruptions time to focus: silence your phone, turn off notifications or use apps for managing incoming messages. Also, you can significantly improve your productivity by using The Pomodoro Technique.

Take Time to Rest

There is nothing less productive than a drained person. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, spend enough time in the sun, drink a lot of water and take breaks. Clearing out your head can bring inspiration and help find answers to seemingly unsolvable problems.
